We have seen a number of Lehenga-cum-saree style, saree-cum-gown style and it’s now time to combine looks of saree and salwar suit split into two body halves for each. While the lower part consists of traditional way of pleated saree, the upper half of the body would have seedha aanchal that is pleated and adorned in a dupatta style. Easy to drape and looks stylish.

When you are in a hurry and wearing a perfect pleated saree frets you up, or you don’t know the popular Indian styles of draping saree, you can always go for The Wrap Around Style. Wrap the saree around the waist, like wrap around skirts and pin up the last part of the saree or the pallu on the shoulders. It is simple yet trendy, most importantly quick and easy.

The traditional drape with the ‘Palla‘ at the front can be played with pleating it neatly on the shoulders. This drape is also known as the ‘Gujarati drape’, even though it is worn by women in Eastern UP and Bihar. My first drape – this can be worn special if the palla is heavily embroidered or has broad borders.

Devlina and Devpurna have stylised the saree by Triveni on a Denim Skirt and Denim crop top with tie and dye effect. The pleats are formed and tucked at the front and the loose end- ‘pallu’ is taken forward just like in the case of ‘Siddha Palla’. For a chic evening out, this is a cool style to pick!

In this drape style, the saree is styled over pants instead of the petticoat. The pleats are formed in the usual pattern and the saree is draped encircling the body in first round only. The half and half saree style looks good in this pattern. Aparna completes her look with a statement bead neckpiece.

Polina tries a very unique and ancient drape that was used by men and women. At first it was dhoti, but she decided to transform it in something more modern. Instead living “fishtail” in front between legs, it is thrown over a shoulder and the borders of the saree make look more stylish. It is very comfortable drape for sitting, dancing and even running. Polina has combined the saree with simple T-shirt which just looks fabulous!
